Chanca piedra is a herb of the Phyllanthaceae genus that grows in tropical and subtropical areas of both hemispheres. It is rich in a variety of phytonutrients, the properties of which have been used for centuries by followers of Ayurveda, the Malays, the Chinese and South Americans.

Our food supplement contains chanca piedra herb extract (Phyllanthus niruri), DER 10:1, whose name in Spanish means ‘stone breaker’. The 500 mg of extract found in 1 capsule was extracted from 5000 mg of the herb Phyllanthus niruri.

Chanca piedra contains tannins, chlorogenic acid, flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenes, coumarins, lignans and phenylpropanoids, which are responsible for the plant's valuable properties. Traditionally, the whole plant, leaves or fruit were used to make infusions and decoctions. The properties of the herb were first recognised in Brazilian areas, an area with a long history of use by their people.
