Most alpha lipoic acid supplements are racemic (i.e., they contain [R] and [S] forms in equal parts), but RALA is the only form that occurs naturally in the body. RALA is a unique cofactor in energy production and supports glucose regulation and fat metabolism. RALA promotes the synthesis of glutathione and the induction of Phase II detoxification enzymes in the liver. D-Biotin is a natural cofactor and when combined with RALA may promote mitochondrial health. |
