Description	MASTIC GUM Mastic gum (Pistacia Lentiscus) comes from the trees of 24 mastic villages in southern Chios, Greece, where it has been used for hundreds of years. The mastic extraction process involves a small cut in the tree, which produces a small "teardrop" of mastic gum. GINGER Ginger powder is extracted from the root of the ginger plant. The ginger used in this product is standardized to contain high levels of gingerols; the active ingredient in ginger. Ginger is also naturally rich in magnesium, chromium and zinc. Zinc is a necessary cofactor of the carbonic anhydrase enzyme, which is involved in stimulating hydrochloric acid in the stomach. BETAINE HCL Betaine hydrochloride is betaine bound to hydrochloric acid. Hydrochloric acid is produced naturally in the stomach, where it aids in the digestion of proteins by denaturing the protein; this makes it easier for the enzyme pepsin to break it down further. Hydrochloric acid is also important for killing harmful microorganisms that may enter the stomach through food. PAPAIN Papain is a proteolytic enzyme that occurs naturally in pineapples and is involved in the breakdown of proteins. This product is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
