Xylitol is often mistakenly called birch sugar, although it is made from a maximum of 5% birch wood. Beech wood is mainly used. Other suppliers also call xylitol made from corn birch sugar, which may be permitted but is certainly not correct.

The manufacturer of this product is based in Finland and is called Danisco.
